I mastered the self-titled EP from the Portuguese rock band Marquise, which was released digitally in March 2023. This engaging project showcases the band’s distinctive sound and artistry that has captured the attention of rock enthusiasts both locally and beyond. The physical edition was released by Saliva Diva and is available here, offering fans a tangible way to enjoy their music.
The album is an energetic mix of garage rock and post-punk, delivered in Portuguese, and features enigmatic yet provocative lyrics that delve into themes of existence, emotions, and societal observations. Each of the five songs encapsulates its own energy and vibe, creating a dynamic listening experience that keeps the audience engaged from start to finish. You can easily sense the raw passion and creativity that Marquise pours into their music, which resonates well with fans of both genres.
The recording process took place at Estúdio Cedofeita, where the ambiance of the studio undoubtedly contributed to the vibrant sound captured in the EP. The project was produced by the talented duo João Freitas and Gabriel Valente, who are known for their innovative approach to music production. Gabriel Valente also took on the mixing of the album, ensuring that every element was carefully balanced and polished to perfection.
