FOH for “A Recital of Music, Word and Image”

“Quem só vê quadros, nem sequer viu a exposição!”

FOH for A Recital of Music, Word and Image.

“A musician and a speaker guide the audience on a sensory and reflective journey, alternating between music and words in a concert with commentary. The fusion of the intensity of György Ligeti’s Musica Ricercata and the auditory and visual narrative of Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, fueled by a profusion of images, creates an engaging dialogue between seeing and hearing.

Between the piano notes and the words spoken and whispered, unexpected complicities emerge that question our affections and perceptions. Inspired by the aphorism “those who see paintings almost never see/hear the exhibition,” the artists invite exploration not only of detail but also of wholeness, expanding the horizons of listening and active contemplation. A unique and impulsive experience, though not immersive, where music and reflection come together to metamorphose the act of observing and hearing.”
