This is a music composition I created, as an academic assignment, for a rework of a Volvo Trucks television commercial. The music was meant to effectively complement the storyline and the original speech presentation throughout the commercial, enhancing both the visual and narrative elements of the advertisement.
For this project, I employed a combination of subtractive and granular synthesis techniques alongside sampled orchestral libraries. This diverse approach allowed me to craft a rich aural palette, creating an atmosphere that not only highlighted the technological aspect of the commercial but also supported the emotional journey presented. The score was designed to build rising tension, effectively drawing the audience in as the storyline progressed toward its climax.
I placed special emphasis on dynamics and timbre, ensuring that the orchestral samples blended seamlessly with the synthesized elements. This fusion resulted in a unique soundscape that retained the essence of the original commercial while adding depth and sophistication to the listening experience. By thoughtfully integrating these musical components, I aimed to create a composition that not only resonated with the viewers but also enhanced their understanding of the Volvo Trucks brand and its innovative message.
