Music House for Children: Nurturing Musicality and Early Learning

Since November 2021, I’ve been passionately producing, mixing, and mastering a diverse array of children’s songs and musical stories, encompassing both traditional and original compositions, for London’s prestigious school “Music House for Children,” which was founded in 1994 by the dedicated Emma Hutchinson. Over this period, I have had the opportunity to produce, mix, and master more than 20 songs aimed at enhancing the musical experience of young learners.
Emma established Music House for Children in 1994 as a comprehensive centre for music teaching, training, and resources, with the main focus being on nurturing musicality while also integrating other essential areas of learning in early childhood development. Throughout the years, she has worked extensively with childminders, families, children’s centres, nursery and day settings, as well as SENCO (additional needs) units, ensuring that her approach is inclusive and adaptable to various needs.
Emma has been an influential voice at numerous conferences, including renowned gatherings such as the International Society for Music Education (ISME), MERYC EU, Pre-School Learning Alliance, and the Westminster Forum, where she has shared her insights and experiences with educators and music enthusiasts alike. Much of her practical research focuses on developing language skills and early communication, recognizing their pivotal role in a child’s overall development. In her spare time, Emma actively contributes to her community as a committee member of the Devon British Red Cross, engages in swimming, and showcases her musical talents as an accomplished pianist. She is also proficient in playing the French horn, trumpet, ukulele, and fife, making her a well-rounded musician. As of October 2021, Emma has taken on a new role as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Music Teacher magazine, where she serves as an early years specialist, helping shape the future of music education for young children.
